KWIC deeply values youth participation and leadership in all aspects of our organization, including youth leadership on our committees, working with youth as partners to engage in peer mentorship, and serving youth in educational programming.
Youth sit on KWIC’s Board of Directors and committees and organize special events such as the YOUth as Agents of Change Discussion Series, workshops and conferences, such as Global Youth Day.
Using a peer-mentorship approach, youth develop and lead skills-based workshops on a variety of topics through the Youth Facilitators Collective.
We also support youth through partnership programs, such as the TEACH Social Justice Certificate & Alternative Placement Program, TRACKS Youth Program, Sustainable Trent, Trent Oxfam and Youth Leadership in Sustainability.
The KWIC Global Youth Leadership Hub
- an inclusive, creative hub connecting youth to a place of belonging and unique opportunities to explore solutions to complex issues impacting our lives and future.
Watch for details about the upcoming re-opening of the centre this September, nestled within the Trent School of the Environment, ESC B101 at Trent University, East Bank.
The KWIC renovation was made possible through the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Trent University and community partners: Lett Architects , Mortlock Construction and Burrow.
