Purple Onion Festival

The Purple Onion Festival will take place at Millennium Park on Sunday, September 23, from 11am to 5pm.

The 350.org Purple Onion procession starts at Confederation Park at 10am.  It's a short procession to Millennium Park tying the issue of Food Security to Climate Change.The theme of the procession is Alternative Forms of Transportation including walking, skipping, skateboards, bicycles, EBikes and a variety of tricycles for all age groups. No fossil fuel powered cars are allowed in the procession. Bring your family and wear stylish hats, and costumes to match our 350.org and Purple Onion theme. Purple hair is especially welcomed. Prizes go to the best-decorated mode of transportation, the best costume and the best overall, tied to the theme of the Purple Onion Festival.
