First Annual Peterborough Earth Day Walkabout event took place on March 22nd

On March 20th 2008, the spring equinox, the United Nations observe International Earth Day (for more information, see http://www.earthsite.org/). In celebration, the Kawartha World Issues Center is sponsoring the first annual Peterborough Earth Day Walkabout on the following Saturday (March 22nd) from 11AM to 2PM.



This family-friendly event invites participants to visit organizations and businesses in the downtown Peterborough area to learn how they are helping to make ours a greener city and participate in short, fun activities.

Participants can collect stamps at each location to show which ones they visited and to win prizes of earth friendly products that have been donated by the various venues. Kids can also download our colouring contest at www.kwic.info.

  • Buttercup & Co. Eco-Chic Boutique - 381 Queen St.

  • The Mushroom Man - Peterborough Farmers Market - Lansdowne and George St.
  • OPIRG Peterborough - Sadlier House - 751 George St. N
